TabletPen Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 4, 2026
Overview
TabletPen turns your Android tablet into a wireless Bluetooth drawing tablet. We respect your privacy and collect minimal data necessary for the app to function.
Data Collection
Data stored locally on your device
- Bluetooth device names and addresses — to remember your paired devices
- App settings — input mode, pressure curve, orientation preferences
- Diagnostic logs — recent app events stored temporarily in memory for bug reporting (not persisted to disk)
Data collected by third-party services (Lite version only)
The free version of TabletPen includes Google AdMob for advertising. AdMob may collect:
- Advertising ID
- Device information (model, OS version)
- IP address
- Ad interaction data
For details, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
The Pro version contains no advertising SDKs and collects no third-party data.
Bug reports (voluntary)
When you tap “Report Issue” in Settings, a GitHub Issue is created containing:
- Your description of the issue
- Device model and Android version
- App version
- Recent diagnostic log (Bluetooth connection events, errors)
Bug reports are only sent when you explicitly tap Send. No data is transmitted automatically. Reports are publicly visible at github.com/TabletPen/tabletpen.github.io/issues.
Data NOT collected
- No personal information (name, email, phone number)
- No location data
- No contacts or call logs
- No photos, files, or media
- No usage analytics or tracking
- No account or login information
Data storage
- All app settings are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences
- No user data is stored on remote servers (except voluntarily submitted bug reports via GitHub Issues)
Bluetooth permissions
TabletPen requires Bluetooth permissions to function as a wireless drawing tablet. Specifically:
- BLUETOOTH_CONNECT — to connect to your laptop/desktop as a drawing tablet
- BLUETOOTH_ADVERTISE — to make the tablet discoverable for initial pairing
These permissions are used solely for the app’s core functionality.
Internet permission
The Internet permission is used for:
- Displaying advertisements (Lite version only)
- Sending bug reports to GitHub (when initiated by the user)
Children’s privacy
TabletPen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
